OFFICERS



President -  Dennis Murray  (Little Falls)

Dennis has been a member of IAABO since 1983. He has served on the Awards, Interpretation, Mechanics & Techniques and Welfare Committees. He is active in many athletic, civic and human service organizations in his home community of Little Falls, NJ and elsewhere, having served on the Executive Boards of the Department For Persons With Disabilities (Diocese of Paterson), DePaul Catholic High School, Little Falls Football Parents Association and the Little Falls Athletic Club. He has coached a variety of youth sports. Dennis was with The Prudential Insurance Company of America for over 36 years and retired January 2012 as Vice President and Account Executive in Prudential's Group Insurance Department. He is Board 33's 2016 recipient of the Dominic Cuccinello Distinguished Service Award.

Vice President - Mike Kaelber   (Woodbridge)

Mike has been a member of IAABO since 1981. He has served on the Audit and Budget, Awards, Cadet Examination, Ethics, Mechanics and Techniques and presently the Constitution and Policy committees. He has also served as a mentor for new officials. Mike has been a teacher and high school soccer and softball coach in the Woodbridge Township public schools and is active in youth sports in the Woodbridge community.. He is currently employed by the New Jersey School Boards Association as Senior Director of Legal and Policy Services. He resides in Woodbridge with his wife Pat, daughter Kelli and son Brian.

Executive Secretary / Treasurer– Walter Rusak  (Bridgewater)

  Walter has been a member of IAABO since 1973.  He started on the executive board in 1992 as Attendance Chairperson, and has served as Chairperson of the Cadet Examination committee for seven years.    Other committees he has served on include the Awards, Constitution, and Audit and Budget committees.  He was honored to receive the Dominic Cuccinello Award for Distinguished Service in 2001 and the Frank C Corrigan Award in 2015.  Walter was the President of Board #33 in 2006 and 2007.  In 2009, he was elected to serve as the Executive Secretary & Treasurer of the board.  In addition to his work with the board, he officiates high school volleyball and serves as the assignor for volleyball officials for the Skylands conference. He retired from school administration after 38 years of service.  He also served as a director of the Pulaski Savings Bank.  Walter currently resides in Somerset, NJ with his wife Christine, and is the proud father of 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren.

Official Interpreter  Dick Hecker - (Demarest)           

            Dick has been a member of IAABO since 1991. He has served on several committees including Public Relations, Interpretation and the Mechanics and Techniques Committee. Dick is currently the chairman of the Cadet Program. Dick officiates at the high school and college levels. He is employed with Colliers International Commercial Real Estate and serves as a Managing Director. Dick lives in Bergen County with his wife and twin daughters.

Membership Secretary – James Llewellyn (Bridgewater)

James has been a member of IAABO Board 33 since 1990 and has been a board member since 2014. He served as the Somerset County mentor representative from 2006 to 2013, providing dedicated mentors and game opportunities for our membership. Other committees he has served include the Mechanics and Membership committees. He officiates high school and collegiate basketball and is affiliated with the CBOA, NJAC, ECAC and NJCAA organizations. He is a principal/hydrogeologist for Appalachia Hydrogeologic & Environmental Consulting, LLC and resides in Bridgewater, New Jersey.

Immediate Past President - Brian Lauducci  (Branchburg)

Brian has been a member of Board 33 since 1993. He formerly served as Membership Secretary where he was responsible for maintaining the membership roster. Prior to this, Brian served as the Somerset County mentor representative. He also served on the Mechanics and Techniques committee and the interpretation committee. Brian is employed as a Director of Information Technology for a small company in Somerville and has helped a great deal with the Board 33 website. This includes development of the online payment system that allows for credit card payment of dues.He officiates high school and college basketball and is affiliated with the NJAC, CBOA, ECAC, CSAC and other collegiate organizations. He is Board 33's 2013 recipient of the Dominic Cuccinello Distinguished Service Award. Brian lives in Branchburg, Somerset County with his wife and 2 boys.

Counsel – Alan Goldberger (Montclair)

Al has served as counsel to Board 33’s Executive Committee since 1977; and as President of the Board in 2000-2001. He also serves as Parliamentarian and legal counsel to Board 33’s parent organization, the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials, Inc. Al officiated college basketball in the Northeast Conference, as well as college baseball and high school football. He is the author of Sports Officiating: A Legal Guide, the recognized legal authority for officials. Each year, at the IAABO Spring Meeting and, again at the IAABO Fall World Basketball seminar, Al presents programs to IAABO members, officers and interpreters in attendance. He is a frequent speaker to officials and other sports industry groups including the National Association of Sports Officials, Atlantic 10 Conference/Patriot League Developmental Camp, the California Basketball Officials Association, US Lacrosse, the New Jersey Council of Administrators of Health & Physical Education, the Athletic Trainers Society of New Jersey, Inc., the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association, the National Police Athletic League, the Professional Association of Volleyball Officials; and many state and local high school athletic associations, colleges, universities, and school districts. In 2004, Al was the recipient of Board 33’s Dominic Cuccinello Distinguished Service Award; and in 2006, the Frank C. Corrigan Memorial Award. Al is the 2011 recipient of the National Association of Sports Officials Mel Narol Medallion Award.

Attendance – Pat Diamond (Ringwood)

Pat has been a member of IAABO since 2009. He presently serves as chairman of the Attendance Committee and has served on the Welfare, Mentor, Policy, County Relations, Fees, Constitution and Cadet/ Examination committees. He still is a mentor for new officials and volunteers every year at the Dan Finn Classic. He currently is a Police Officer in Bergen County.


Audit and Budget – C. Daniel Stubbs, Jr. (Newark)

Dan has been a member of IAABO since 1987. He is the current Audit and Budget Committee Chairman. He is a certified public accountant and works as the Director of the Master of Accountancy in Financial Accounting program of the Rutgers Business School. Dan is an educator and teaches undergraduate and graduate accounting at the Newark campus of Rutgers University and the Brooklyn campus of Long Island University.


Awards – Gil Bragg (Plainfield)

Gilbert has been a member of IAABO since 1981. He has served on the attendance and awards committee. He has officiated in a number of states games and the tournament of champions. He’s retired from the Irvington Board of Education after 35 years. He is also active on the executive committees for NJFOA and NJSBUA. He lives in Plainfield with his wife Lisa and three daughters LaTaisha, TY-Lisa, and Catherine


Banquet –Dennis Allocco (Summit)

Dennis has been a member of IAABO Board 33 since 1995 after starting his IAABO experience with Board 168. Dennis started his officiating career after coaching boy's basketball for 6 years at Morris Catholic HS in Denville, NJ. Dennis has worked for the United States Postal Service for the past 33 years and is currently the Postmaster of Elizabeth, NJ after holding the same position in Bernardsville, East Hanover, Summit, and Morristown. Dennis has held numerous civic positions in his hometown of Summit as the past president of the Summit PAL and co-chair (with his wife Cathy) of First Night Summit along with being a long time member of the Summit Rotary club. Dennis officiates in the NJAC (Div. 3), CACC (D-2), as well as the Northeast Conference, Ivy/Patriot Leagues, Colonial Athletic Association, and the Atlantic-10 division 1 leagues. Dennis and his wife Cathy reside in Summit and are the proud parents of two University of Massachusetts graduates Katelyn and Danielle.


Cadet / Examination – Dick Hecker (Demarest)

Dick has been a member of IAABO since 1991. He has served on several committees including Public Relations, Interpretation and the Mechanics and Techniques Committee. Dick is currently the chairman of the Cadet Program. Dick officiates at the high school and college levels. County Relations – Edward Finn Sr. (North Arlington)

Ed has been a member of IAABO since 1992. He is a Physical Education Teacher in the Jersey City School System and was the Director of the Jersey City Recreation Summer High School Basketball League for 20 years beginning in 1990. He is also co-founder and member of the Board of Trustees of the Dan Finn Classic and recipient of the Board #33 Edgar Cartotto Award in 2014. He lives in North Arlington with his wife Mary and is the proud father of Ed, Jr., Maura, and the late Dan.


Ethics – Bill Lord (Clark)


Fees / Assignors –Dennis McCaffery (Secaucus)

Dennis has been a member of IAABO Board 33 since 1994. He served on the Mechanics and Techniques, Membership and Mentor Committees. He officiated at the college level for many years in the CBOA, NJAC and CACC Conferences. He worked several NJSIAA State Finals and TOC Tournaments. He currently officiates high school basketball and mentors new officials. He has coached a variety of youth sports in his community. Dennis has worked at Consolidated Rail for 39 years. He lives in Secaucus, NJ with his wife Colleen and their son DJ and daughter Jackie, both of whom have graduated from Montclair State University.


Mechanics and Techniques – Gary Sluck (Verona)

            Gary has been a member of IAABO since 2002. He has served on the Mechanics and Techniques and Welfare committees and continues to work with the mentor program.  He has been employed by the same financial planning firm for approximately 24 years. He lives in Verona with his wife, MaryBeth, and his two boys, Michael and Christopher.

           

Policy – Nick Brown (Hackensack)

Nick has been a member of IAABO since 1996. He has served on both the Constitution and Ethics committees. He has also served as a mentor for cadets and newer officials. He has worked in various conferences as a women’s college official. Nick presently lives in Bergen County.


Public Relations – Robert Solomon (North Plainfield)

Bob has been a member of IAABO since 1997. He has served as chairman on the Ethics committee for two years prior to public relations. He currently officiates NCAA Women's Division II and III in multiple conferences(GSBO, ECAC CACC, MEAC and CUNY). Bob is a five time NCAA Division III Tournament official and has worked multiple championships and playoff games in both High school and college. He currently works for Russell Stover Inc. as Northeast Divisional sales Manager. Married for 30 years to his wife Lisa, he has two children - Robert Michael and Samantha Kelly.


Special Projects – Bruce Davis  (Scotch Plains)

Bruce has been a member of IAABO since 1995. He is presently chairman of the Special Projects Committee, which will co-ordinate this year’s Special Olympics which Bruce has been involved with since the 1996-97 season. He is a former girl’s varsity basketball head coach at Scotch Plains Fanwood HS. He resides in Scotch Plains with his wife Anne. Their daughter is a Dartmouth graduate, MA at John Jay, PhD candidate John Jay College.


Welfare – Richard DePena - (Ridgefield Park)

Richard has been a member of IAABO Board 33 since 2003. He currently serves as Chairman of Welfare, has been a member of the Cadet and Mechanics Committees, Public Relations and has actively volunteered and refereed The Dan Finn Classic for the last five years. Rich also officiates Women’s College basketball in various Division 3 conferences across New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Separately, since 2009, he manages, together with his family, a successful Boys AAU Basketball program ranging from the ages of 10-18 years old. He has served on the Village of Ridgefield Park Board of Recreation and is a 17 year active member of the Ridgefield Park Fire Department. Rich is happily married with three children, Jenisse, Karissa, and Justin and presently owns his own catering business.


Web Site Coordinator – Robert Riker (Little Falls)

Bob has been a member of IAABO since 2002. Presently serving as Board 33’s Website Coordinator he has helped bring information to the forefront for the benefit of the entire membership. He has served on the Interpretation, Awards, Cadet, Welfare, County Relations, Mechanics and Techniques Committees. He has been a mentor for new officials and also officiates softball. He is on the Board of Trustees for The Dan Finn Classic and is Board 33's 2014 recipient of the Dominic Cuccinello Distinguished Service Award. Bob is a retired Detective Captain of Police.

Rebound Editor – Ken Hand (Perth Amboy)

Ken has been an IAABO member since 1975 and was President of Board 33 in 2001-02. He has served as the Attendance and Cadet/Examination Committee Chairman. Ken has received the Dominic Cuccinello Award for Distinguished Service in 2000 and the Frank C. Corrigan Award for Distinguished Service to basketball in 2005. He has served on the Executive Committee since 1988. Ken coached baseball at Perth Amboy High School and received the New Jersey Scholastic Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame Service Award in 2016. He is also a Life Member with the New Jersey Football Officials Association. Ken was the Official Scorer for the New Jersey Cardinals baseball team and has scored for the Lakewood Blue Claws. Ken is a retired education administrator.
